Five UMW Swimmers Qualify for NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

The Mary Washington swim team is sending five swimmers to the 2024 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Greensboro, N.C., the NCAA announced on Wednesday night.

The five -- all from the women's team -- are Kinsey Brooks (four events), Bridget Zagrobelny (one event), Phoebe Root (one event), Bri Wilson (one event), and Selby Heyman (one event).

Brooks, who swam at the 2023 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, returns to swim the 200 individual medley (2:03.87), the 100 breaststroke (1:02.90) and 200 breaststroke (2:18.01). Brooks is seeded 10th in the nation in the 200 IM and the 200 breaststroke and 13th overall in the 100 breaststroke.

Zagrobelny also qualified for the same three events, she ranks sevent in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.42).

Root (backstroke), Wilson (butterfly) and Heyman (freestyle) will compete with Brooks (breaststroke) on the team's 400 medley relay that finished with a final time of 3:49.13 and ranks 19th overall.

The 2024 Swimming and Diving Championships will take place in Greensboro, N.C. from Wednesday, March 20 through Saturday, March 23. NCAA.com will provide livestreaming coverage found here and will be available on the swimming schedule links on UMWEagles.com.
