UMW Women's Swimming's Kinsey Brooks Claims NJAC Swimmer of the Week

Mary Washington women's swimmer Kinsey Brooks took home New Jersey Athletic Conference swimmer of the week on Tuesday, per a release from the conference.

Brooks earns her second NJAC Swimmer of the Week honor after powering the Eagles to the team title at the inaugural NJAC Swimming & Diving Championship meet. Brooks won six medals – five of them gold – and posted six individual NCAA 'B' cuts and was part of three relays that posted 'B' cut times.

Individually, she collected two gold medals and one silver, winning the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke. She posted 'B' cut times in both the preliminaries and finals of both events. She also claimed silver in the 200 breaststroke, posting 'B' times again in both prelims and finals. Brooks was part of the gold medalist 200 medley, 400 medley, and 200 freestyle relays, with both medley relays posting 'B' cut times.

The 200 medley combined for a 1:44.75 and the 400 medley clocked a 3:50.16 in the final. The 200 free relay posted a 1:37.33. Brooks and the 400 medley squad came back later for a time trial in which they lowered their time yet again to a 3:49.13 for another 'B' time. Brooks and the UMW team amassed 1,204 points to win the NJAC title.
