UMW Women's Swimming Takes Down Franklin & Marshall, 163-98

The Mary Washington women's swim team took down Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon in Lancaster, Pa., 163-98.

The Eagles started quickly once again as Phoebe Root, Bridget Zagrobelny, Bri Wilson and Margie Jones took home the victory in the women's 200 yard medley relay (1:50.78).

In the next event (women's 1000 yard freestyle), Ashley Dyer placed second, while April Groce took home a podium finish with third place.

Rose McMullen (2:20.30) edged out her competitors to take home the victory in the 200 yard freestyle, while Paige Strycker placed third.

Root was victorious (1:01.57) in the 100 yard backstroke as Ainsley Graf took third.

Wilson took home first in the women's 200 yard butterfly (2:14.49), while Kinsey Brooks (24.73) finished in the top spot in the 50 free. Brooks then doubled down in the 100 free with another win (54.68) and then again in the 100 fly (58.49).

In the 200 breast, Zagrobelny won with a time of (2:30.48).

The Eagles are back in action on Friday, Nov. 10 with a meeting at St. Mary's College at 5 p.m.
