Kinsey Brooks Named B101.5 Female Student-Athlete of the Month for February

University of Mary Washington sophomore Kinsey Brooks (Lake St. Louis, Mo./Spotsylvania HS) has been named as the B101.5/UMW Athletics Female Student-Athlete of the Month for February. Brooks, now a two-time winner of the award, will compete at the 2022 NCAA Division III women's swimming championships, held on March 16-19 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Brooks will compete in the 200 yard Individual Medley (3rd seed), 100 yard Breaststroke (5th Seed), and the 200 yard Breaststroke (7th Seed). Brooks was named as the Female Rookie Swimmer of the Year at the Metro Swimming Conference championships in February, in which UMW captured first place, in its first year as a league member. 

Brooks finished first at the conference meet in the 200 yard breaststroke, with a strong NCAA B cut of 2:16.24, won the 100 breaststroke at 1:02.10, and improved her NCAA provisional time in the 200 yard IM by 1.8 seconds, breaking the Metro Championship record and finishing in first place.
