The University of Mary Washington women's swim team captured the 2022 Metro Swimming Conference Championship on Sunday night in Camden, N.J. The win is the first for the Eagles in their new conference; however, the result is very familiar, as the Eagles claim their 31st consecutive conference championship - one of the longest active streaks in NCAA Division III in any sport.

On Sunday, Ashley Dyer finished first in the 1650 freestyle, at 17:58.14, and Kaylie Curran finished second in the 200 yard backstroke, at 2:09.77, with Jenny Thompson finishing fourth and April Groce fifth. Thalia Costanza was fourth and Anna Watson fifth in the 100 freestyle, and Kinsey Brooks added to her outstanding weekend with a win in the 200 yard breaststroke, with a strong NCAA B cut of 2:16.24. Bridget Zagrobelny was second in the event, at 2:24.05.

Rose McMullen was third in the 200 butterfly, and Bridget Wilson fourth, and the 400 free relay of Brooks, Dyer, Watson, and Costanza took second at 3:33.39.

The Eagles took top honors with 1476 points, while The College of New Jersey had 1290, Rowan 1096, and Merchant Marine at 916 as the top four among 16 competing schools. Brooks was named as the championships' Rookie of the Meet as well as the Female Swimmer of the Meet for her exploits that included numerous team and meet records, as well as multiple NCAA cuts. Coach Anderson was named as the league's Female Coach of the Year.
