UMW Women's Swimming Tops Gettysburg, 156.5-105.5, on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington women's swim team defeated Gettysburg College, 156.5-105.5, on Saturday in Gettysburg. The Eagles improve to 8-1 on the season in dual meets.

UMW started the day with a win by Phoebe Root, Kinsey Brooks, Bridget Wilson, and Thalia Costanza in the 400 yard medley relay, at 4:03.66. Ashley Dyer followed with a win in the 1000 yards at 10:59.73, and came right back to win the 200 yard freestyle at 1:58.90. Brooks then won the 100 breaststroke at 1:05.93, Wilson won the 200 butterfly at 2:15.24, and Brooks came back to win the 200 breaststroke at 2:23.68.

Dyer then completed the sweep of distance freestyles, claiming the 500 at 5:20.08. Wilson won the 100 butterfly at 1:00.72, and Brooks won the 200 IM at 2:11.37, before the 200 free relay of Margie Jones, Julia May, Sydney Hall, and Costanza won with a time of 1:41.77.

The Eagles will host Salisbury University next Saturday for Senior Day at 1:00 p.m.
