UMW Women’s Swimming Tops Howard, 153-124, on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team topped Howard University, 153-125, on Saturday in Washington D.C. The Eagles improve to 3-1 on the season. 

Claudia Keller took the top time in the 1000 yard freestyle and also placed second in the 200 yard backstroke. Mary Zagrobelny placed first in the 200 yard breaststroke and then took second in the 100 yard breaststroke. Erin Whitesell took first in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:17.25, and also won the 100 yard butterfly as well. 

Sydney Hall came in first in the 50 yard freestyle winning by .08, with a time of 25:04. Hall was also a winner in the 100 yard freestyle. Macey Lynch placed first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:28.78.

The relay team of Grace Gartman, Lynch, Jenny Thompson, and Hall took the top time in the 400 yard freestyle. 

The Eagles will be back in action on 11/2 as they will travel to Roanoke for a meet at 4 p.m.
