The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team continued its dominance as the only team in any sport to win a Capital Athletic Conference championship in each of the 29 years of the league's existence, claiming the 2019 title on Sunday night in St. Mary's City, Md.
Mary Washington junior Carley Vaughn, UMW freshman Grace Nicolai, and Mary Washington head coach Justin Anderson collected major awards to headline the 2019 All-CAC Women's Swimming team.

Sunday night's results included a first place finish in the 100 yard individual medley from Carley Vaughn at 1:00.47. She was followed by Erin Whitesell in fifth and Melissa Autry in sixth. Claudia Keller then claimed an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 17:31.16 in winning the 1650 freestyle, with Grace Nicolai taking second, Cara Lowengrub sixth, Bri Nesbitt seventh, and Genevieve Meadows eighth.
Macey Lynch was second in the 200 yard backstroke at 2:09.03, followed by Keller in third, Taylor Mooney in fourth, and Beth Kelly in eighth. Sydney Hall was the Eagles' top finisher in the 100 freestyle in fourth place, while Kait Luncher was fifth and Grace Gartman sixth.
Callie Dunham touched out teammate Mary Zagrobelny to claim the 200 yard breaststroke at 2:24.73, while Megan Carney was fifth and Sally Burkley sixth. Vaughn won the 200 yard butterfly at 2:08.44, and Ingrid Dizon took second, Whitesell fourth, Hailee Morse fifth, and Lowngrub eighth.
The 400 free relay took second at 3:36.02 to cap the championship.
