UMW Women's Swimming Cruises Past St. Mary's on Saturday, 202-55

The University of Mary Washington women's swim team defeated St. Mary's College, 202-55, on Saturday in Capital Athletic Conference action in St. Mary's City, Md.

The Eagles started with a win in the 200 yard medley relay, as Carley Vaughn, Mary Zagrobelny, Erin Whitesell, and Sydney Hall took first at 1:53.25. UMW took the top four spots in the 1000 free, with Claudia Keller taking first at 10:53.84, and Julia Geskey won the 200 free at 1:59.18, as the Eagles finished 1-2-3-4. 

Grace Nicolai won the 100 backstroke at 1:04.11, and Zagrobelny won the 100 breaststroke at 1:08.71. Vaughn won the 200 butterfly at 2:12.88, and Sydney Hall won the 100 free at 55.23. Keller led a 1-2-3-4 finish in the 200 backstroke at 2:14.59, and Zagrobelny won the 200 breaststroke at 2:30.20. Macey Lynch won the 500 freestyle at 5:29.10, Vaughn won the 100 fly at 1:01.21, and Nicolai won the 400 IM at 4:48.73, as UMW again took the top four spots.

UMW went 1-2 in the 200 free relay, with Megan Carney, Hall, Grace Gartman, and Geskey winning at 1:44.34.

The Eagles will swim at Gettysburg College next Saturday at 1 p.m.
