UMW Women's Swimming Wraps Up Home Slate With 150-112 Win Over Gettysburg

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team wrapped up its home schedule with a 150-112 victory over Gettysburg College on Saturday at Goolrick Natatorium. The Eagles improve to 7-1 on the season.

UMW opened with a victory in the 200 yard medley relay, as Carley Vaughn, Mary Zagrobelny, Megan Murphy, and Grace Gartman touched the wall at 1:50.60. Freshman Claudia Keller won the 1000 freestyle at 10:57.40, and sophomore Julia Geskey won the 200 free at 1:59.32.

Vaughn won the 100 yard backstroke at 1:02.32, and Murphy won the 200 yard butterfly at 2:09.90. Keller then won the 200 backstroke at 2:11.79, as Geskey took second at 2:12.84. Zagrobelny won the 200 breaststroke at 2:33.94, just ahead of teammate Callie Dunham at 2:35.29. Erin Whitesell won the 100 butterfly at 1:00.88, and Murphy won the 200 IM at 2:12.05, with Geskey placing second.

The 200 free relay was victorious at 1:42.36. That squad consisted of Kait Luncher, Vaughn, Melissa Autry, and Grace Gartman.

UMW will return to action next Saturday at York College in the regular season finale.
