UMW Women's Swimming Tops St. Mary's, 197-62, on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington women's swim team won its sixth straight dual meet with a 197-62 victory at St. Mary's College on Saturday in St. Mary's City, Md.

UMW opened with a win in the 200 yard medley relay, as Carley Vaughn, Mary Zagrobelny, Megan Murphy, and Grace Gartman won at 1:51.23. Murphy won the 200 yard freestyle at 1:57.34, ahead of teammate Claudia Keller, and Maddy Rymer won the 100 backstroke at 1:03.53. Zagrobelny won the 100 breaststroke at 1:09.81, Vaughn won the 200 butterfly at 2:15.37. 

Gartman then won the 50 free at 25.71, and the 100 free at 56.10, with Michaela Miller placing second. Erin Whitesell won the 200 backstroke at 2:18.45, with Kaylie Benson taking second. Megan Carney won the 200 breast at 2:33.13, and Keller won the 500 free at 5:21.87. Murphy won the 100 fly at 57.18, with Kait Luncher finishing second and Beth Kelly third.Keller won the 400 IM at 4:48.64, as Eagles finished 1-2-3-4. 

The Eagles closed the day with a win in the 200 free relay, as Melissa Autry, Luncher, Gartman, and Murphy won at 1:42.70.

The Eagles will host gettysburg College next Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
