UMW Women's Swimming Tops Marymount, 193-44, on Monday

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team defeated visiting Marymount University, 193-44, on Monday afternoon at Goolrick Natatorium.

UMW opened the meet with a 1-2 finish in the 200 yard medley relay, with Maddy Rymer, Sam Gorton, Megan Murphy, and Bailey Stewart taking first at 1:56.73. Claudia Keller won the 1000 free at 10:56.28, with Cara Lowengrub and Genevieve Meadows following in second and third.

Grace Gartman finished first in the 200 freestyle at 1:59.68, and Beth Kelly took first in the 100 yard backstroke at 1:04.12. Mary Zagrobelny took first in the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:09.92, and Megan Murphy took first in the 200 yard butterfly at 2:09.79. Kait Luncher took first in the 50 free at 26.45, as the Eagles took first, second, and third. 

Maddy Rymer was first in the 100 freestyle at 57.07, just ahead of Michaela Miller, and Keller won the 200 yard backstroke at 2:11.46. Callie Dunham finished first in the 500 freestyle at 5:35.43, just ahead of Corrie Presland-Byrne and Bri Nesbitt. Murphy then won the 100 butterfly at 58.51, as the Eagles finished 1-2-3. Dunham edged Lowengrub in the 200 IM at 2:23.10. Murphy, Gartman, Melissa Autry, and Makenzie Katzer won the 200 free relay at 1:46.42.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they visit St. Mary's College at 1 p.m.
