UMW Women's Swimming Tops Frostburg, Roanoke, and Ferrum on Friday Night

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team defeated Frostburg State University, Roanoke College, and Ferrum University on Friday night in Western Maryland to improve to 5-1 on the season.

The Eagles opened with a win in the 200 meter medley relay with Carley Vaughn, Mary Zagrobelny, Megan Murphy, and Julia Geskey finishing at 2:03.58, and Claudia Keller followed with a win in the 200 IM at 2:34.74. Murphy won the 100 meter butterfly at 1:06.24 as well as the 400 freestyle at 4:46.96, and Erin Whitesell won the 50 meter freestyle at 31.32.

Vaughn took the 100 IM at 1:11.01, and Grace Gartman, Keller, Julia Geskey, and Murphy won the 200 meter free relay at 1:57.02.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they host Barton College at 1 p.m.
