UMW Women's Swimmers Cap Regular Season with Senior Day Victory Over York

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team defeated York College, 198-64, on Saturday at Goolrick Natatorium on Senior Day in the regular season finale. The Eagles improve to 8-1 on the season.

The Eagles started with a win in the 200 medley relay, as Carley Vaughn, Anna Corley, Megan Murphy, and Shannon Coryell won at 1:50.19. Murphy won the 1000 freestyle at 10:47.90, and Maysa Kuykendall won the 200 freestyle at 2:03.25, with Erica Piper taking second.

Julia Geskey championed a 1-2-3 finish for the Eagles in the 100 backstroke at 1:00.82. Maddy Rymer was second, and Taylor Mooney was third. Sara Dye won the 100 breaststroke at 1:10.60, with Makenzie Turner taking second.

Vaughn won the 200 butterfly at 2:12.05, with Hailee Morse finishing second; Shannon Coryell won the 50 free at 25.17, with Lauren Wood and Kait Luncher finishing in second and third.

Coryell won the 100 free at 54.91, Rymer won the 200 back at 2:15.10, and Dye spearheaded a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 breaststroke at 2:36.81. Megan Murphy won the 500 freestyle at 58.52, and Corley won the 200 IM at 2:11.52, just ahead of teammates Michaela Miller and Turner.

The Eagles finished 1-2 in the 200 free relay of Luncher, Wood, Vaughn, and Coryell winning at 1:42.18.

The Eagles will return to action on February 17, when they will look for their 27th consecutive CAC Championship. The Eagles are the only team in CAC history to claim the title.
