UMW Women's Swimmers Top Salisbury, 157-48, on Thursday Evening

The University of Mary Washington women's swim team remained perfect in Capital Athletic Conference action on Thursday evening, as the Eagles defeated Salisbury University, 157-48.

The Eagles started the meet by finishing first in the 200 yard medley relay. Hailie Morse and Corrie Presland-Byrne finished 1-2 in the 1000 yard free style, and Julia Geskey headed a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 freestyle.

Senior Shannon Coryell followed with a win in the 50 freestyle at 25.27. Erin Whitesell and McKinzie Turner finished first and second in the 200 yard individual medley. In the 100 yard butterfly, Anna Corley finished at 59.13 and Carley Vaughn took second at 59.54. Geskey won the 100 yard backstroke at 1:00.93.

Megan Murphy followed with a win in the 500 freestyle at 5:25.28, and Sara Dye won the 100 breaststroke before the 200 free relay took first at 1:41.46.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday when they visit Gettysburg College at 1:00 p.m.
