UMW Women's Swimmers Compete at Day One of Gettysburg Invite

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team turned in some top performances on Friday Night at the Gettysburg College Invitational.

The Eagles started the night by missing out of first place in the 200 medley relay, falling by one hundredth of a second at 1:47.90. Senior Shannon Coryell finished second in the 100 yard freestyle at 53.54, and Carley Vaughn finished first in the 200 butterfly at 2:07.82, with teammate Megan Murphy taking second at 2:09.16.

The Eagles capped the night by taking first in the 400 free relay at 3:33.95. That relay consisted of Coryell, Vaughn, Julia Geskey, and Anna Corley.

The meet will continue with two sessions on Saturday.
