UMW Women's Swimming Tops Randolph-Macon, 150-55; Brethauer Wins 100th Career Meet

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team defeated Randolph-Macon College, 155-50, on Saturday in Ashland, Va. With the wins in the men's and women's meets, UMW head coach Abby Brethauer surpassed the 100 career win mark.

UMW started with a win in the 200 yard medley relay, with Carley Vaughn, Sara Dye, Kait Luncher, and Shannon Coryell taking first at 1:53.71. Maysa Kuykendall took first in the 200 freestyle at 2:02.90, and Lauren Wood finished first in the 50 freestyle as UMW finished 1-2-3 with a time of 25.83.

Megan Murphy took first in the 400 IM at 4:45.40, and Coryell won the 100 butterfly at 1:00.82. Julia Geksey won the 100 freestyle at 55.42, Vaughn won the 100 backstroke at 1:01.56, and Murphy followed by winning the 500 freestyle at 5:27.13. Sara Dye won the 100 breaststroke at 1:09.60, and the 200 free relay won with Coryell, Kuykendall, Lauren Wood and Marissa Miller touched the wall at 1:42.61.

The Eagles will be back in action on November 5 when they visit Marymount University at 2:00 p.m.
