UMW Women's Swimmers Top Salisbury, 198-63

The University of Mary Washington re-entered the pool on Saturday in their first meet in the new calendar year, and came away with a 198-63 victory at Salisbury University in Capital Athletic Conference action.

The Eagles opened with a win in the 200 meter medley relay, with Katie Fago, Hannah Hagy, Megan Murphy, and Steph Hallock taking first at 2:04.53, and the Eagles also finished second in the event. The Eagles finished 1-2-3 in the 800 freestyle, with Ashley Walnut taking first at 9:47.97. The Eagles went 1-2-3 in the 200 freestyle, with Emily Adams touching first at 2:13.30, and Fago won the 100 backstroke at 1:08.12, just ahead of teammate Taylor Mooney.

Hagy won the 100 breaststroke at 1:17.64, and Murphy followed with a win in the 200 butterfly, at 2:29.26. Hallock finished first in the 50 freestyle at 27.67, just ahead of Lauren Wood, and then Hallock repeated with a win in the 100 freestyle at 1:00.90, just ahead of Adams.

Fago won the 200 backstroke at 2:31.48, with Mooney taking second, and Abby Cox won the 200 breaststroke at 2:51.30, just ahead of Murphy in second. Walnut won the 400 freestyle at 4:45.34, and Hagy won the 100 butterfly at 1:07.57. Murphy won the 200 IM at 2:30.19, and Hallock, Hagy, Fago, and Wood finished first in the 200 free relay at 1:52.21.

The Eagles will be back in action next Saturday as the Eagles host St. Mary's College at 1:00 p.m. Live video of the meet will be available.
