UMW Women's Swimmers Open With 145-117 Win Over W&L on Friday Night

The University of Mary Washington women's swimmimng team opened the 2015-16 dual meet season with a 145-117 win over Washington & Lee University on Friday evening at Goolrick Natatorium.

The Eagles opened the meet with a win from Katie Fago, Anna Corley, Hannah Hagy, and Stephanie Hallock in the 200 yard medley relay at 1:48.95. Corley took first in the 100 breaststroke at 1:10.68, Megan Murphy took first in the 200 yard butterfly at 2:13.15, and the Eagles finished 1-2-3 in the 50 freestyle, with Hallock finishing first at 24.65, Shannon Coryell second at 25.05, and Hagy third at 25.09.

Hallock won the 100 freestyle at 53.99, Corley won the 200 backstroke at 2:10.81, and Abby Cox won the 200 breaststroke at 2:35.02, with Hagy taking second at 2:35.55. Coryell won the 100 butterfly at 59.99, and Corley won the 200 IM at 2:13.72, with Murphy taking second at 2:15.34.

Fago, Hagy, Coryell, and Hallock ended the meet with a win in the 200 free relay, at 1:39.46.
