UMW Women's Swimmers Top Salisbury, 208-54, on Saturday in CAC Action

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team defeated Salisbury University, 208-54, on Saturday at Goolrick Natatorium to improve to 5-2 on the season.

The Eagles opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay, as Katie Fago, Alex Parrish, Hannah Hagy, and Stephanie Hallock touched out at 1:52.10. Maddie Carinci won the 1000 freestyle at 11:24.09, as UMW finished 1-2-3 in the event. Abby Cox followed with a win in the 200 freestyle at 2:02.82, Fago won the 100 backstroke at 1:00.74, as the Eagles claimed first, second, and third, and Hagy won the 100 breaststroke at 1:11.94.

Megan Murphy won the 200 butterfly at 2:13.29, Hallock won the 50 free at 26.30, Shannon Coryell won the 100 free at 55.38, and Anna Corley won the 200 backstroke as the Eagles finished 1-2-3. Parrish won the 200 breast at 2:30.53, as the Eagles took the top three places, and Carinci won the 500 at 5:38.81, as UMW finished 1-2-3.

Coryell followed with a win in the 100 fly at 1:00.85, Murphy won the 200 IM at 2:14.46, and the 200 free relay of Bailey Stewart, Coryell, Fago, and Corley finished first at 1:43.58, while Maddy Rymer, Lauren Wood, Steph Hallock and Hagy took second at 1:44.71.

The Eagles will return to action next Saturday when they visit St. Mary's College at 1:00 p.m.
