UMW Women's Swim Team Tops York, 211-53, on Friday Night

The University of Mary Washington women's swim team topped York College of Pa., 211-53, on Friday night at Goolrick Natatorium.

The 200 medley relay of Katie Fago, Alex Parrish, Hannah Hagy, and Stephanie Hallock took first at 1:51.34. Maddie Carinci won the 1000 freestyle at 11:31.16, followed in second by Kris Currie at 11:35.68. The Eagles finished 1-2-3 in the 200 freestyle, with Abby Cox first at 2:03.67, Ashley Walnut in second at 2:04.54, and Lauren Wood in third at 2:07.22.

Anna Corley won the 100 backstroke at 1:02.00, with Robin Brazier second at 1:02.66. Hagy won the 100 breaststroke at 1:11.48, Megan Murphy won the 200 fly ay 2:13.59, and Hallock won the 50 freestyle at 25.45, as UMW went 1-2-3, with Bailey Stewart second at 26.50, and Riley Scalzo third at 26.84.

Hallock won the 100 freestyle at 55.60, with Shannon Coryell second at 55.89, and Laureen Wood third at 56.86. Corley won the 200 backstroke at 2:12.44, with Brazier second at 2:13.94. Parrish won the 200 breaststroke at 2:32.72, with Sam Gorton second at 2:42.16, and Corrie Presland-Byrne third at 2:44.31.

Walnut won the 500 free at 5:35.31, followed by Carinci in second at 5:40.35, and Currie third at 5:43.03. Hagy won the 100 fly at 1:02.27, with Scalzo second at 1:05.58, and Stewart third at 1:08.84. Murphy won the 400 IM at 4:47.07, with Cox second at 4:50.11, and Parrish third at 4:54.36.

The 200 free relay finished 1-2-3, with Coryell, Corley, Hallock, and Hagy taking first at 1:41.75.

The Eagles will be back in action next Saturday when they visit Randolph-Macon College at noon.
