UMW Completes Day One at NCAA Championships

UMW Completes Day One at NCAA Championships

Indianapolis, IN.-- Jessica Singer was the lone Eagle to compete for the women on the day. Singer competed in the 500 free on day one, from the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.

In the morning prelims, Singer who was seeded 37th coming into the event, shaved three seconds off her time, moving up to 23rd after the morning swim. Although she did not qualify for the final heats in the evening session, head coach Abby Brethauer was proud of the way her swimmer competed.

"Jess did really well for her first NCAA swim. She started the four day championships off on a good note for us."

Singer will compete tomorrow in the 200 free, as well as on the final day in the 1650 free.

Amber Kerico will start her championship competition tomorrow when she competes in the 100 fly.
