UMW Women's Soccer Drops 3-0 Decision to #4 Christopher Newport

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 deicison to visiting Christopher Newport University on Saturday at the Battleground. The Eagles slip to 4-6-1 on the season, and 1-1 in Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference action.

The Eagles fought hard, keeping the game scoreless for the first 37 minutes, before the Captains found the net for the first goal of the game at 37:34. The game remained 1-0 to halftime.

In the second half, CNU scored early (48:50) and late (81:28) for the three-goal final margin.

The Eagles were outshot in the contest, 17-6, and both teams registered six corner kicks. UMW senior goalkeeper Allison Nork (Harrisburg, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt) made four saves in goal for the Eagles.

Mary Washington will return to action on Wednesday when they visit Swarthmore College at 5:00 p.m.
