O'Fallon's Two Scores Lead UMW Women's Soccer Past Salisbury, 3-0

Junior forward Mikaela O'Fallon (Harrisonburg, Va. / Harrisonburg) scored a pair of goals to lead the University of Mary Washington women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over visiting Salisbury University on Saturday afternoon at the Battleground in Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference action. Senior Katherine Brady (Charlottesville, Va. / Albemarle) provided the other score for the Eagles, who improve to 4-5-1 overall, and run their win streak to three straight.

After a scoreless first 26 minutes of play, O'Fallon scored the game's first goal at 26:16, on an assist from senior Abby Zimmerman (Charlottesville, Va. / Western Albemarle). The Eagles gained a boost just before halftime, as O'Fallon was brought down in the penalty box, and Brady connected on a penalty kick score at 44:30.

In the second half, the score remained at 2-0 for much of the action, before O'Fallon ended up on the end of another Zimmerman assist at 83:22.

The Eagles led in shots, 16-5, as well as corner kicks, 3-2. Eagle goalkeeper Allison Nork (Harrisburg, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt) made four aves in 85 minutes before yielding to senior Emily DePersio (Navarre, Fl. / Navarre), who registered a clean five minutes of relief.

UMW will return to action next Saturday as they host Christopher Newport University at 1:00 p.m. in another C2C showdown.
