UMW Women's Soccer Plays to 2-2 Draw at Houghton

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw on Friday night at Houghton College. Junior Malorie Joseph scored two goals for the Eagles.

Joseph got the scoring started as she scored 16:35 into the game on an assist from Katie Rauch.

The Highlanders of Houghton answered back just two seconds after the second half to tie the game up at 1. Houghton then scored a second goal seven minutes later to take a 2-1 lead.

The Eagles fought back to get the game to a draw as Joseph netted her second goal of the night on a volley. From there, UMW had some good looks but couldn't convert to push them into the lead.

Mary Washington outshout Houghton 18-3, and had seven corner kicks.

UMW will be back in action on Sunday as they will travel to Elmira at 12 p.m.
