UMW Women's Soccer Tops Penn St. Harrisburg, 2-0, in Regular Season Finale

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team used a pair of first half scores to defeat Penn State Harrisburg, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action. The Eagles clinch a spot in the CAC Tournament, and finish the regular season with an 8-9-1 overall mark, and finished 4-4-1 in league play.

Freshman Jordan Rock opened the scoring for the Eagles, netting an unassisted score at 12:14. Freshman Hannah Nightingale added an insurance tally at 20:52 to up the lead to 2-0, and the Eagle defense maintained the shutout for the final 70 minutes.

UMW led in shots, 11-7, as well as corner kicks, 3-2. Eagle goalkeeper Haley Randall made three saves in posting the shutout, while Harrisburg's Kayla Arnold had six stops for the hosts.

The Eagles will advance to the CAC Tournament, starting on Saturday. The Eagles will be the fifth seed and will play at St. Mary's on Saturday.
