UMW Women's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw at York on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw at York College of Pa. on Saturay in Capital Athletic Conference action. The Eagles move to 5-7-1 overall, and 1-2-1 in Capital Athletic Conference play.

After a scoreless first half that saw York outshoot the Eagles, 4-3, The Spartans reached the scoreboard first, as Natalie McCarthy scored at 56:29, unassisted, for her second score of the year. UMW answered right back, as freshman Brooke Bauman booted her fourth goal of the year at 61:57, to tie the score.

UMW would go on to outshoot the hosts, 10-3, in the half, but were unable to find the go ahead score through a scoreless set of 10 minute overtimes.

UMW led in shots, 16-8, while York led in corner kicks, 8-3. UMW goalkeeper Haley Randall had two saves in goal for the Eagles, while Jess Weiber had 10 saves for York.

The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday when they team hosts Southern Virginia University at 4:30 p.m. in another CAC contest.
