UMW Women's Soccer Ties St. Mary's, 0-0, on Wednesday in CAC Road Contest

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team drew a scoreless tie with St. Mary's College in Capital Athletic Conference action on Wednesday in St. Mary's City, Md. The Eagles move to 8-5-2 overall, and 4-2-1 in CAC play, while the Seahawks move to 8-5-1 and 5-1-1.

The Seahawks came out of the gate firing, with five of their 18 shots on the day coming in the opening 7:14 of play. Each time, UMW goalkeeper Sara Armor was equal to the task, making three saves in the opening salvo en route to 10 for the day.

Both teams' defenses were equal to the task all day, and the Eagles made a charge in the final minutes of regulation with four shots, but none were able to find the nets.

St. Mary's held an 18-17 edge in shots, as well as a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Armor made 10 saves, while St. Mary's' Sydney Larkin had five saves.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they host Wesley College in another Capital Athletic Conference matchup starting at 1 p.m. for Homecoming.
