UMW Women's Soccer Tops Salisbury, 1-0, on Reynolds' First Half Tally

Sophomore Allye Reynolds scored the game's only goal at the 38:38 mark in lifting the University of Mary Washington women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Salisbury University on Sunday in Capital Athletic Conference action. The Eagles improve to 6-3-1 overall, and 2-0 in CAC play.

Salisbury held a slim edge in shots, 4-3, through the midway point of the first half, but couldn't fire a shot on cage until after Reynolds took a through pass from Christiana Meyers at the top of the box and connected on a low shot for the lone score of the day.

In a game that was played primarily in the center of the field, Salisbury ended with a 7-6 advantage in shots, as well as a 3-1 edge in corner kicks. UMW sophomore goalkeeper Haley Randall made one save in gaining the shutout for the Eagles, while Hope Knussman had three saves in defeat for Salisbury.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they host Frostburg State University at 4:00 p.m. in another key CAC contest.
