UMW Women's Soccer Falls at Catholic, 2-1, on Tuesday

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team jumped out to a lead, but undefeated Catholic University stormed back with two second half goals in taking a 2-1 decision on Tuesday in Washington, D.C. The Eagles slip to 4-3-1 on the season.

Mary Washington gained the lead at 37:32 of the first half, as sophomore Allye Reynolds scored on a Christiana Meyers assist, and held the lead through intermission.

The Cardinals knotted the score at 66:27 on a score from Taylor Pisk, and netted the eventual game winner from Lindsay Aleman at 74:33.

Catholic led in shots, 19-5, and in corner kicks, 9-2. UMW goalkeeper Madeline Duvall had nine saves, while Catholic's Ally Mercello had two.

The Eagles will return to action this Saturday when they hit the road to take on Marymount University in the Capital Athletic Conference opener at 5 p.m. in Arlington.
