The Fredericksburg Area Food Bank serves Caroline County, the City of Fredericksburg, King George County, the Locust Grove community, Spotsylvania County and Stafford County as well as neighboring communities. The Fredericksburg Area Food Bank continues to distribute more food every year. Local donors provide critical support that allows the Food Bank to continue to feed more people. Local food donors provide over one-third of food donations, sourcing more food locally than government programs and Feeding America donations.

While working at the food bank the UMW Women's Soccer Program were tasked with examining each item to make sure that it had not passed its' expiration date or had been compromised in any way. After inspection the food items were sorted into separate bins to be displayed for the public and distribution.

Over the past three weeks the UMW Women's Soccer Program has sent groups of 5 and 6 to the food bank to help with various tasks. CAC All-Conference selection Lizzie Weast commented, "it was a fun way to give back to the community and to help serve those in need. It was nice to see that a small groups of us could get so much done in only a couple hours of time."
