UMW Women's Soccer Roars Back to Top Penn State Harrisburg, 3-1, at Homecoming

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team scored three second half goals to erase a 1-0 deficit in downing Penn State Harrisburg, 3-1, on Saturday at the Battleground.

After a scoreless first half, the Eagles fell behind just 1:52 into the second half, as the Lions scored on a goal from Kylie Courtney. Playing with a renewed sense of resolve, UMW tied the score at 55:14, as Maryfay Jackson headed in a Taylor Decker pass to knot the score.

The game remained tied until 82:03, when Decker picked up another assist in finding Lizzie Weast. Decker added an insurance score at 84:44 on a Sam Lockley assist, giving the Homecoming crowd a 3-1 victory to cheer.

The Eagles led in shots, 23-2, and in corner kicks, 8-0. Mackenzie Gates had 11 saves for Penn State Harrisburg.

Mary Washington will return to action on Tuesday when they host Wesley College at 3:30 p.m. for senior day in the final regular season game of the season.
