UMW Women's Soccer Drops 6-0 Decision at Catholic

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team dropped a 6-0 decision at Catholic University on Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 6-2-1 on the season, while the Cardinals improve to 6-1-2.

The Cardinals wasted little time in jumping ahead, scoring in the fourth minute on a goal from Lindsay Aleman, who upped the lead to 2-0 in the 15th minute. The Cardinals led, 3-0, at halftime, after a score from Ava Brown in the 29th minute.

In the second half, the Cardinals picked up where they left off, as Kirsten Wosleger scored in the 64th minute, followed by Sara Madden in the 72nd minute. Aleman capped the scoring in the 86th minute to complete the hat trick.

Catholic led in shots, 18-5, and in corner kicks, 2-0. UMW goalie Charlotte Owens had four saves, while CUA's Lexi Halpern had three saves.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday when they visit Marymount at 4:00 p.m.
