UMW Women's Soccer Falls at York in CAC Semifinal, 3-1

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision at York College in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament semifinals on Wednesday afternoon, closing the season with a 10-10 record.

In an evenly played first half, York jumped ahead at 26:11 on a goal from Beth Bunn. The Eagles knotted the score just before halftime, as Anna Brauch scored her first goal of the year on a Maryfay Jackson assist, coming on a corner kick.

The Spartans scored in the opening minutes of the second half, and added another at 83:37 to put the game away. The Eagles led in shots, 15-14, and York held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Freshman goalkeeper Sara Armor had five saves in goal for the Eagles. York will advance to the CAC Championship on Saturday.
