UMW Women's Soccer Ties Randolph-Macon, 2-2

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team tied Randolph-Macon College, 2-2, on Wednesday afternoon at the Battleground. The Eagles move to 4-0-1 on the season.

UMW fell behind in the opening minutes, as Kim Roberts scored at 3:15. The Eagles answered at 8:08 when Tina Rader (Springfield, Va., West Springfield) scored unassisted. Then, just 12 minutes into play, the Eagles scored the third goal of the game, by Erin Reynolds (Oakton, Va., Oakton) on an Amy Olson (Crofton, Md., Arundel) assist.

The game remained at 2-1 until 10 minutes remaining, when Mereith Eckles scored the tying tally. Randolph-Macon led in shots, 12-10, and had 11 corner kicks to four for UMW. Tina Brehm (Springfield, Va., Robert E. Lee) had one save and Charlotte Owens (Fairfax, Va., Robinson) six for the Eagles.

Mary Washington will return to action on Sunday when they visit Frostburg State University at 1:30 p.m.
