UMW Women's Soccer Falls to Stevenson, 2-0

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Stevenson University on Saturday at the Battleground in Capital Athletic Conference action. The Eagles fall to 8-5-2 overall and 3-4-1 in CAC play.

The Mustangs scored first at 30:50 as Jamie Matlock scored unassisted, and added an insurance goal in the second half on Meghan Williams' goal at 63:31.

Stevenson led in shots, 17-6, and in corner kicks, 9-2. UMW senior goalie Tina Brehm (Springfield, Va., Robert E. Lee) made nine saves for the Eagles.

Mary Washington will close the regular season on Tuesday when they host Roanoke College at 4:00 p.m.
