UMW Women's Soccer Falls at St. Mary's in CAC 1st Round, 3-1


The University of Mary Washington dropped a 3-1 decision at St. Mary's College on Saturday in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament. The Eagles' season ends at 8-6-3 overall.

St. Mary's wasted no time in gaining the advantage, as Jaci Auletto scored her first goal of the year at 1:36 on an assist from Tori Eskay. The Eagles would tie the score at one as senior Chrissy Reardon (Springfield, Va., Robert E. Lee)scored unassisted at 14:36. The game remained tied through halftime.

The Seahawks took the lead for good as Eskay scored at 54:18. Eskay would add an insurance tally at 81:14 to push the final margin to 3-1. St. Mary's led in shots, 17-10, and had eight corner kicks to six for the Eagles. Junior Tina Brehm (Springfield, Va., Robert E. Lee) had seven saves for Mary Washington while Kelsey Wirtz had four for St. Mary's.
