UMW Women's Soccer Falls at Salisbury, 1-0


The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Salisbury University in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday in Salisbury. The Eagles fall to 6-3-1 overall and 1-2 in league play.

Mary Washington held the Gulls scoreless until Katie McMahon scored her second goal of the season at 34:44, proving to be the only score of the game. Salisbury outshot the Eagles, 16-8, and held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

UMW junior Tina Brehm (Springfield, Va., Robert E. Lee) had eight stops for the Eagles, while Salisbury's Melissa Orgera had three saves.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they visit North Carolina Wesleyan College at 4:00 p.m.
