UMW Women's Soccer Tops NC Wesleyan

FREDERICKSBURG, VA - The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team used goals from six different players in topping North Carolina Wesleyan College, 6-0, on Wednesday at the Battleground in the final regular season game of the season. The Eagles improve to 10-3-3 overall.

Eagle freshman Sunny Herold (Palmyra, Va., Fluvanna) opened the scoring at 2:36 on an assist from sophomore Amy Olson (Crofton, Md., Arundel). Seniors Allison DiPippa (Centreville, Va., Westfield) and Kate Parvin (Moorestown, N.J., Moorestown) connected for the Eagles second goal at 10:14, with DiPippa gaining the score, and freshman Katy Generelli (Spotswood, N.J., Spotswood) capped the first half scoring on an assist from Morgan Thompson.

Junior Gabriela Rangel-LaFuente (Vienna, Va., George C. Marshall) scored on a Sarah Tryon assist at 60:52, and Lilly Briedis-Ruiz (Charlottesville, Va., Albemarle) scored at 70:00 on a pass from Karen Strat. Olson capped the scoring at 86:47 unassisted.

The Eagles outshot the Bishops, 23-1, and had five corner kicks to one for the guests. Tina Brehm (Springfield, Va., Robert E. Lee) had one save in splitting time and sharing the shutout with Grace Rosales (Vienna, Va., Madison). NC Wesleyan's Tiina Rastiola had eight saves.

The eagles will visit Stevenson University on Saturday in a Capital Athletic Conference match at 2:00 p.m.
