The fifth-ranked University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team held Capital Athletic Conference foe Frostburg State University scoreless in the first half en route to an 18-4 victory over the Bobcats on Wednesday afternoon action in Frostburg, Md. The Eagles improve to 11-1 on the season.

The Eagles roared to a 14-0 halftime advantage. Paige Haskings opened the scoring at 27:47 on an assist from Mackenzie Maguire, and Hope Lockwood followed with another one minute later. Maguire upped the lead to 3-0 at 22:49, and Allison Davis scored 37 seconds later.

The lead swelled to 5-0 on a Holly Hudson score with 21:35 left, and Julia Albert scored with 19:56 remaining to push the lead to 6-0. Maguire followed at 19:31, Lockwood scored with 18:15 left, and Kristen Kunaniec followed at 17:45, as Davis picked up an assist on two straight tallies.

Albert scored her second of the day at 17:03 on a Savannah Boyd helper, and Micaela Quinn scored with 11:22 remaining on a Madison Hurlburt assist. Tess Siburn scored with 9:56 to go on another Hurlburt pass, and UMW closed the half with free position goals from Lockwood and Quinn.

In the second half, UMW opened the scoring with a Boyd goal assisted by Hudson with 25:22 left, and Quinn's third of the day at 22:21 remaining. Frostburg State scored three straight before the Eagles scored with goals from Boyd and Lauren Fox. The Bobcats capped the scoring in the final moments to move the final to 18-4.

The Eagles led in shots, 27-11, and in ground balls, 13-9. Junior goalkeeper Shannon Bremer made four saves for the Eagles, while two Frostburg goalies each made three stops.

Mary Washington will host ninth ranked York College of PA in a key CAC and national contest on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Battleground.
