Five UMW Women's Lacrosse Players Named to IWLCA All-Region Teams; Ashby, Littlefield, and Mott Named First Team

Five University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse players have been named to the All-Chesapeake Region teams, as announced Friday afternoon. Sophomore goalie Hanna Ashby, junior defender Kirsten Littlefield, and senior midfielder Emily Mott were named to the first team, while senior defender Maiah Bartlett and sophomore attacker Mackenzie Maguire were named to the second team.

Ashby, who has already gained first team all-conference honors this Spring, posted 101 saves with a 57.1 save percentage, and shared time in UMW's first defensive shutout since 1987. Littlefield, who gained All-America honors a year ago, has yielded 45 ground balls and 43 draw controls to go with 22 caused turnovers. Mott closed her four-year all-region career with 18 goals and 18 assists, with 45 ground balls, 28 draw controls, and 25 caused turnovers.

Bartlett gained second team honors after posting 32 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers on one of the country's top defensive squads. Maguire led the Eagles' offense with 41 goals and 21 assists.
