#16 UMW Women's Lacrosse to Host Denison in NCAA Tournament Second Round on Sunday, May 15

The 16th ranked University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team became one of four Capital Athletic Conference schools selected among the 40 chosen to compete in the 2016 NCAA Division III women's lacrosse championship, which begins next weekend at campus sites.

The Eagles, 14-4 on the season and ranked nationally thoughout, will host Denison University in second round action on Sunday, May 15, at 2:30 p.m. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for school-aged students, senior citizens, and military with ID.

Mary Washington is making its 11th NCAA Tournament appearance, and its first since 2012. The Eagles have won 12 NCAA Tournament games in its history, including advancing to the Final Four in 2001 and 2002.

Denison enters with a record of 13-5, and won the North Coast Athletic Conference title on Sunday over Wittenberg. The Big Red is making its 18th NCAA Tournament appearance, and third straight.
