#18 UMW Women's Lax Tops Wesley, 18-3, on Wednesday Night in CAC Tilt

Seven Eagles scored at least two goals in 18-3 win over Wesley College on Wednesday evening under the lights at the Campus Recreation Field. The Eagles improve to 10-2 overall and 3-1 in Capital Athletic Conference play.

Julia Albert and Mackenzie Maguire each scored twice in the first 10 minutes of action to give the Eagles a 4-0 lead. After Wesley scored at the 19:10 mark, the Eagles scored seven unanswered to end the half up 11-1. In the run, Nikki Lind and Savannah Boyd each scored twice, while Ashlyn Dacey, Allison Davis, and Jamie Dillon scored one apiece.

In the second half, Dillon found Lind less than two minutes in, pushing the Eagles' advantage to 12-1. Kristen Kunaniec found Katherine Lambert at the 25:33 mark to push the lead to 13-1.

Wesley scored with 22:12 on the clock before UMW put away three more goals from Lambert, Davis, and Dillon to make it 16-2.

The Wolverines scored their last goal at the 12:21 mark. Boyd scored with seven minutes remaining and Dillon scored in the final minute to cap the scoring at 18-3.

The Eagles led in shots, 30-10, and in draw controls, 14-9. UMW also led in ground balls, 32-23, while Wesley committed 28 turnovers to UMW's 15.

Lind scored three goals and dished out two assists, while Dillon and Boyd each scored three goals and tallied one assist. Dacey and Emily Mott each recorded three assists.

The Eagles are back in action at 1:00pm on Saturday at York.
