UMW's Kirsten West Named CAC Defensive Player of the Week

York sophomore forward KIM WAYSON (Harwood, Md./Southern) and Mary Washington junior midfielder KIRSTEN WEST (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne’s Belfield) were named the CAC Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week. 

Wayson exploded for 16 points in a pair of victories last week, including a CAC decision against Marymount. She tied a season-high with nine points on six goals and three helpers against the Saints. She added four goals and three assists in a weekend non-conference win against St. Vincent. 

West helped 16th-ranked Mary Washington to a 26-9 win at Wesley, contributing four draw controls, two ground balls, and forcing four Wolverine turnovers, as the Eagles allowed single-digit goals in the conference tilt. In addition, she also scored a season-high four goals and added an assist in doubling her season point total.
