#16 UMW Women's Lax Falls at #5 Gettysburg, 17-6
The sixteenth-ranked University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-6 decision at fifth rated Gettysburg College on Thursday afternoon in Gettysburg. The Eagles fall to 2-2 on the season.

The Bullets jumped on top early and never looked back, grabbing a 7-1 lead in the opening 11 minutes and then scoring the final five goals of the half to lead 12-2 at intermission. In the second half, the Eagles kept the margin to 5-4, with goals from Catherine Kennedy, Allie Kimmelman, Kirsten West, and Jenna Petrucelli.

In all, the Bullets outshot UMW, 33-16, and had 16 ground balls to 12 for the Eagles. Kathryn Stiltz had two saves in seven minutes and Danni Guigli added seven in 52 minutes for UMW. The Eagles were led by Kimmelman's goal and assist and two assists from sophomore Addie Hawley. Gettysburg saw Lindsey Robinson score nine points on five goals and four assists.

The Eagles will return to action on March 1 when they face Rochester Institute of Technology in St. Croix at 10:00 a.m.
