UMW Names Brendan McGrath '90 as Men's and Women's Golf Coach

Brendan McGrath '90 has been named the new men's and women's golf coach at the University of Mary Washington, according to Interim Director of Athletics Patrick Catullo. Also, longtime administrator and coach Dana Hall will assume the duties of Director of Golf.

"We are excited to welcome Brendan McGrath back to his alma mater to be the coach of the men's and women's golf programs", said Catullo. "Coach McGrath's experience as a player and coach will be a great asset to the teams and UMW Athletics. We are also pleased to announce that Dana Hall will serve as the Director of Golf. With over 30 years of experience as a faculty member, Dana will be a valuable addition to the golf programs as she serves as the faculty of record and will have academic oversight of both the men's and women's golf programs".

An experienced playing professional, McGrath is a member of the PGA, and has amassed 52 professional wins, and competed on the Nationwide Tour, as well as in the 2017 Senior PGA Championship.

"I am very excited to be coaching both the women's and men's golf teams at Mary Washington", said McGrath. "Being a UMW alum makes this even more special".

An experienced instructor, McGrath has served as Director of Instruction at Hidden Creek Country Club since 2014. Prior to that, he served as Director of Instruction at Chantilly National Golf and Country Club from 2009-14. And he has also served as head professional at Fauquier Springs Country Club, from 2000-09.

His resume also includes experience as head professional and general manager at Reston National Golf Course, and assistant pro stints at Fauquier Springs, Chantilly National, and Riverbend Golf and Country Club.

McGrath is a 1990 graduate of Mary Washington, and resides in Centreville.
