Carpenter, Applebury, Sherman Honored on C2C All-Conference Women's Basketball Team

Senior forward Jordan Carpenter (Chesterfield, VA / Matoaca) was named the conference Player of the Year as well as the Defensive Player of the Year as the 2023-24 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Women's Basketball all-conference teams were announced on Wednesday. Head Coach Deena Applebury was awarded with the Bill Finney Coaching Staff of the Year award, and senior Sydney Sherman joined Carpenter on the all-conference team.

A first team all-conference choice, Carpenter, who ranks nationally in doubles with 15 double doubles in 23 games, leads the Eagles with 15.0 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.  A 2023 All-American, Carpenter became the 21st player in school history to surpass 1,000 career points this year. Her career high of 31 points was achieved this season against Gallaudet, when she notched her 1000th point at the buzzer. She was named the league's player of the week three times this season.

Applebury gains the conference Coach of the Year award after leading the Eagles to a 15-8 record entering the conference tournament. This is her sixth conference Coach of the Year honor.

Joining Carpenter on the all-conference team is senior forward Sydney Sherman, who gained second team honors.  She has scored 266 points this season, with a career-high 11.6 points per game. Sherman has grabbed 4.1 rebounds per game, and added 45 assists, 23 steals and 19 blocked shots. Her career high of 26 points was gained this season in a win at York College.
