No. 20 Mary Washington Women's Basketball Pulls Through Against York (Pa.), 64-59

The Mary Washington women's basketball team ran its season-opening win streak to three games with a 64-59 win over York (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon.

Sydney Sherman led the Eagles in scoring in a breakout game with 26 points on 11-of-18 shooting, while Jordan Carpenter reeled in a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards.

Keagan Schwab followed closely with 15 points, which including a 3-pointer.

Mary Washington came back in the fourth quarter as it trailed for most of the afternoon. The Eagles outscored York, 21-9, in the fourth quarter to pull away with the victory.

Defensivley, the Eagles held strong once again as they held York to just a 38.5% clip from the floor, while UMW shot 26-of-66 (39.4%). Too, they forced York into 17 turnovers -- while holding themselves to just nine on the offensive end.

Mary Washington heads to Ashland, Virginia next Saturday, Nov. 18 for a meeting with Shenandoah at 2 p.m.
