The 2022 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Women's Basketball awards have been announced. University of Mary Washington junior Ashley Martin was named as the league's Defensive Player of the Year, while sophomore Jordan Carpenter and senior Tory Martin were named to the league's all-conference second team.
Mary Washington junior Ashley Martin was named C2C Defensive Player of the Year after registering 111 rebounds as a guard, while adding 33 steals and nine blocked shots on the perimeter for the Eagles. She helped UMW limit opponents to 57.1 points per game, and 34.1% shooting from the field.
Carpenter ranks second on the team with 9.4 points per game and is first with 9.9 rebounds per contestand is shooting a team-high 51.4% from the field through the regular season. She has reached double figures in scoring in 12 games, and double digits in rebounds 13 times.
Tory Martin gains all-conference honors for the second time, as she leads UMW with 10.5 PPG. She is shooting 45.4% from the field, and has reached double figures in 13 games. She is closing in on the 1,000-point plateau, with 933 in her career.
