Megan Green Named Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

Head Coach Deena Applebury announced the addition of Megan Green as the assistant women's basketball coach. Green returns to her alma mater after playing under Applebury from 2013-2017. 

Following her playing career at UMW, Green was named a Graduate Assistant Coach at Caslteton University in Castleton, Vermont. In her first year, she helped lead the Spartans to a 21-5 record. Over her two seasons, Green assisted the program to a 35-17 overall record. While at Castleton, she earned her Master's Degree in Athletic Leadership. 

During her playing days at UMW, Green was named captain during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. In both of those seasons she helped the Eagles reach the NCAA tournament, while also winning the CAC Championship in 2015-16. Green, a two-time All-CAC selection, led the CAC in assists per game and assist/turnover ratio during the 2016-17 season. 

Green has also worked in various camps over the summer, as well as, served as a tournament liaison for the U.S. Junior Nationals Basketball. Green is a member of the WBCA and was a participant of the WBCA "So You Want To Be A Coach" program in 2017.
